Mamma Mia here we go once again
back to Greece for the fifth consecutive year.
This year is in part a continuation of our 2025 trip that was cut short by Norm's fall disembarking the ferry in Kastellorizo. His injury was severe enough to necessitate our return to Canada two weeks early. In addition to returning to Rodos and Turkiye we will start our trip in the Cyclades at places we have stayed a number of times before.
We leave September 6th with our itinerary taking us
- first to the island of Paros (three nights), where we will relax at Hotel Petres,
- then on to Gayle's favourite island Koufonisia (four nights) where we will return to Pambelos Lodge,
- next, Norm's favourite island Amorgos (for five nights) at Pano Gitonia,
- from there we return to Naxos (for one night), staying at Hotel Grotta
- first at Aethreon (three nights) on the south-west of the island
- followed by Casa Cook (two nights) on the west side north of Lindos
- and finally splurging at Melenos Lindos (three nights) in the town of Lindos
- before returning to Rodos town and Spirit of the Knights (two nights), and finally
- Hotel Zacosta (two nights), also in Rodos town, after which
- we ferry to the small island of Kastellorizo near the Turkish border where things went south last year,
- while there we will again be staying at Kastellorizo Hotel (two nights)
Finally the Turkish portion of our trip
- from Kastellorizo we take a short (20 minute) ferry to cross over to Kas in Turkiye from where
- we will immediately head north to Kalkan for a stay at Fidanka Hotel (four nights), followed by
- a stay Mango and Mandarin (four nights) in Oludeniz-Fethiye,
Finally we fly from Dalaman airport to Istanbul where we will overnight in the Turkish lounge before flying to Athens in the morning to connect with our flight home.
A total of 36 nights we return October 13th.
